Referees are a very important part of the Russell Soccer Club (RSC). They take a leadership position in the game, ensuring fairness, safety amongst the players and ensuring a successful soccer program for the club.

Referees officiating games are paid at a rate determined by the age group and level of the games. In addition, referees may act as Assistant Referees for both house league and Rep games. Beyond being a paid part-time job, successful referees develop confidence in themselves, learn to take charge of situations, and improve their inter-personal skills.  It’s such a great way to be involved in our RSC soccer community, and to encourage our older teen players to stay in the game.

1. Small-sided Soccer Referee Clinic - for new referees aged 12 and older as of March 31st of the current year.

      2.  Entry level Soccer Referee Clinic - for returning referees who are 14 or older as of March 31st of the current year and for new referees who will be 15 or older during the current year.

Your game assignments can be scheduled around your own soccer games if you play, or around your work schedule. You just let us know ahead of time the nights you are available, and you will be sent assignments via power-up sports for those days.

Referees are expected to commit to a minimum of TWO GAMES per week. 

You will receive a pay cheque 3-4 times per year.
